Artist Call Out For Our Silent Film Themed Exhibition In June!

Shana is a huge silent fan fanatic so to tie in with the return of Australia’s Silent Film Festivals June 30th screenings Shana is curating ARThive’s first silent film themed exhibition in June!

We are inviting local artists to apply be a part of it! We welcome a diverse variety of art to our gallery so don’t be shy to email us at subjecthive@gmail.com with some images of your previous works and a bit about yourself. We will make sure we get in contact with you as soon as we can in regards to the show.

It is a $5 entry fee and 15% commission fee if you sell your work during the show.

Applications close on the 6th of May! Though you do not have to have your artwork ready and in at ARThive till around the 27th of May.

There is a huge range of silent films to get inspiration from besides the obvious Chaplin or Keaton. There is horror, surrealism, comedy, drama, action etc. You can find rad short films that are experimenting with special effects etc. Also think of things like sets, props, camera equipment used also.

  1. I have my seven minute silent 16mm B&W film (shot in Alaska) that I can screen with live music: THE OWL IN THE SNOW.
